CRAGWOOD COUNTRY HOUSE WEDDING – JAMES & JEN

Back in the depths of wedding season 2016 I headed up north to the stunning Lake District to shoot the wedding of James and Jen. I absolutely love the Lake District. It has amazing venues and breathtaking views. Not a bad combo for a wedding!

James and Jen got married at the Cragwood Country House Hotel overlooking the magnificent Lake Windermere. It was my first visit to this gem of a wedding venue and I absolutely loved it.

LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I met up with James and his groomsmen at another local hotel where they were curing their hangovers with a couple of pints. After a short trip back to the Cragwood I met up with Jen and her bridesmaids where they were getting themselves ready for the day ahead.

Once ready Jen and her Dad made the short walk to the outside gazebo where James was waiting for his Bride-to-be ready for their garden ceremony. After a short but beautiful wedding ceremony everyone headed back up to the main house for the drinks reception. Dinner and speeches then commenced and once they had wrapped up, James and Jen lead their guests down to the water for a boat ride on Lake Windermere.

Some gorgeous evening light allowed for some lovely intimate portraits of the newlyweds…and their ridiculously beautiful dog Barkley. James and Jen went against the grain a little with no first dance so the party got started as soon as the DJ was ready. Throwing the tunes out and getting the bodies moving was one of my fave all time DJ’s, the crazy good Gary Mills.

This was such a brilliant wedding from start to finish. I loved being James and Jen’s Cragwood Country House Wedding Photographer. Sit back and enjoy my best bits

RICK AND BECKY’S LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING AT WILD BOAR IN WINDERMERE

I was well happy to be back at the gorgeous Wild Boar in Windermere earlier this year for Rick and Becky’s wedding. Set in some beautiful surroundings the Wild Boar in Windermere has everything you could possibly want from a wedding venue. The venue itself is cosy and stylish and boasts not only quality ale but has its own smokehouse which produces some ridiculously good meat!

WILD BOAR WEDDING

My day started out following the boys down to a nearby lake for a little dip. I didn’t personally brave the water myself but it certainly looked like the boys had fun and it definitely cleared off any hangovers from the night before. The girls had a slightly more relaxed morning of pampering.

After a beautiful ceremony, the bar got busy and the celebrations continued. In true Cumbrian fashion, the rain threatened a couple of times but nothing that would put a dampener on the day.

After a journey off in the jeep with Rick and Becky for some evening portraits, the night got fully underway with music from the impressive Keytars.

Rick and Becky’s Wild Boar wedding was everything and more than a wedding should be. Thank you for letting me be a part of it

Lakeside Hotel Wedding Photography - Lake District - Chris & Caroline

Massive congratulations to Chris and Caroline who were married a few weeks ago at the beautiful Lakeside Hotel in Newby Bridge. It was my first wedding at the Lakeside and what a brilliant wedding it was.

The weather was on our side, which is always a risk up in the Lake District. The sun shone pretty much all day which meant we could head out on a boat for an hour after the wedding breakfast.

Overall this was such a great wedding to be part of. Chris and Caroline are so lovely and so much fun.

Sit back and check out their wedding…
