Family Photography in Windermere

One of my favourite places to photograph families is in the English Lake District. It’s become more popular over the past few years, due to my documentary approach, for families to hire me to photograph them on their trip to the Lake District. Often they have hired a house for the week / weekend and invite me to come and hang out with them and document them hanging out, having fun and generally being a family.

This family shoot was one of my favourites to date for sure. This wonderful bunch of humans had hired the coolest house!! Not only was it situated right on the shores of Lake Windermere but the open plan and large spaces made it perfect for their family shoot. Not to mention the craziest part of the house was it’s very own indoor climbing wall!!

Over the space of a couple of hours I documented their lives as they played games, climbed, cuddled, snacked and even napped! Oh and I even managed to captured a fly-by from one of the RAF’s fighter planes that often frequents the area on training missions!
